Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

This policy explains what information Ninth Ember ("we", "us") collects when you visit ninthember.com (the "Site") or use our apps and games, including Crystal Road (together, the "Services"), and how we use it. The short version: we collect as little as possible, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically by our hosting provider. The Site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub may log the IP address of visitors for security and to operate the service. We do not have access to or use these logs. GitHub's handling of that data is described in the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Information stored on your device. Our games save progress locally in your browser or on your device (for example, in browser local storage). That data stays on your device. We do not receive it, and clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app deletes it.

What we do not collect. We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies on the Site. We do not require accounts and do not collect names, passwords, payment details, precise location, or contacts.

2. Cookies

The Site does not set cookies. Our games may use browser local storage solely to save your game progress and settings. This storage is necessary for the game to function and is not used to track you across sites.

3. How we use information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. Third-party services and links

The Site and our apps may link to third-party services such as GitHub, the Apple App Store, or Google Play. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. If you download one of our apps through an app store, the store operator may collect information as described in its own policy.

5. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the only personal information we typically hold is email correspondence, you can exercise these rights by emailing us at the address below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under those laws, and we do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: where we process personal information, we do so on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the Services and responding to you, or to comply with legal obligations. Information may be processed in the United States.

7. Data retention and security

We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. We take reasonable measures to protect information in our possession, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
